It’s not about butts in the seats, it’s about souls in the kingdom.
Unfortunately, many pastors are living a fraudulent life when they reserve the Gospel message for the four walls of the church. They begin to see people in their communities as statistics to be counted, instead of people with names and stories. Numbers are ultimately used to measure the success of their church. If we aren’t careful, we can believe the church is dependent on its numerical value, choosing not to give those numbers a face and a name. When a face is attached, all of a sudden we are held accountable for them. We are responsible for taking the time to hear their stories, do life with them, and allow our hearts to extend the grace and hope Jesus extends to us.
